Rated 7 " recent changes for the worse" 6/25/06

Pierre Bossier Mall has long been one of the nicest malls in this area but that is beginning to change. Since the demise of South Park Mall, the only remaining JC Penney store in this area is located in this particular mall.

Only recently has this mall begun to have problems with thugs loitering in the common areas, but this problem is beginning to affect the customer base, driving many customers to shop at Mall St. Vincent and the nearby Louisiana Boardwalk.

Anchor tenants at this mall include Dillard's, JC Penney, Sears, David's Bridal, and Stage. There is an empty anchor space that was vacated a few years ago by Service Merchandise, but to this day no one has located a store in that space. The minor tenants in this mall have begun to change lately from higher-end stores to more run-of-the-mill stores that cater to a much lower-class clientele. Because of this shift, there are more problems with loitering and crime, and many people are now opting not to shop here (myself included.)

Overall, I give it a 7.
